Youth Volunteers

Youth volunteers are a huge help to us at our sessions and can be great role models for others.

Here’s what some of our Youth Volunteers say:

FAQs

How old do I need to be to become a Youth Volunteer at LPW?

To be a Youth Volunteer, you need to be at least 12 years old.

What if I’m younger than 12?

If you aren’t old enough to become a Youth Volunteer, you can still start your journey to becoming one by acting as a Buddy. Buddies help make sure that everyone who comes to a session or activity feels welcome and included.

Can I get certificates or awards?

Absolutely, yes! We have children and young people who are working towards a range of certificates and awards like ‘Little Stars’, ASDANs and LPW ‘YAA’ Awards.

I’m not sure I want to be a Youth Volunteer. I just want to help - is that ok?

Of course. We are pleased to have lots of helpers!

Can I do a volunteering placement with you for my Duke of Edinburgh award that I am doing at school?

Absolutely, we are more than happy to provide a space to volunteer for the hours you require and can give feedback to your school and/or direct to the Duke of Edinburgh Award assessors.

Adult Volunteering at LPW

If you are as passionate as we are about helping children and young people learn; for children to have as many opportunities as possible to be playful and curious; and grow into resilient, reflective and responsible young people - we welcome your support.

Where you can volunteer

Throughout the week we have volunteering opportunities in both Bristol and South Gloucestershire. Please get in touch for more information

“The team at LPW are a great – such a friendly group of people, and I’d like to help out where I can.”

How to apply

Whether you have experience working with young people, a genuine desire to make a difference or if your own life journey helps you understand the challenges children and young people face, we'd especially love to hear from you. Email us for our application form or give the team a call for an informal chat.

All staff and our volunteers go through a thorough onboarding process including a DBS check and references. Your DBS check will be paid for and processed by us. Please be aware this process means it may take some time before you can get started but we’ll remain in contact throughout.
